American Idol: David Cook Versus David Archuleta - Can Anyone Say ‘Who Cares?!’

Written by Jay on May 20, 2008 – -

david cook versus david archuleta We all know American Idol has been one of the most popular television shows out there since they came out, but we also know that it’s becoming less attractive to people. Well, at least this person. I mean, who wants to watch a singing contest when it’s obviously based on popularity and when it’s officially rigged.

Rigged?!
Hell yeah it is. We all heard about the whole Paula Abdul incident in which she was critiquing two songs of someone’s performance but he had only sung one song. Okay, that may not necessarily prove that it’s rigged, but only because it came from Paula Abdul and we all know there’s some screws lose in her head.
But do you think America’s votes really count for the final decision of choosing the winner? And do you think the singers are picked strictly for their singing talents? Nope!
I only watch American Idol for the first two weeks of auditions because I think it’s hilarious when people go on their to make a fool out of themselves for their 3 seconds of fame. Occasionally, I would watch the good singers but the minute my favorites get voted off, that’s when I stop watching.
So, David Cook, David Archuleta, who cares which one of you guys win. Okay, I take that make… a LOT of people care. Look at the Las Vegas odds on who’s going to win and I bet you the people that have money on the winners care… and I’m sure those gamblers and the contestants family and friends are the only ones.
Oh, and if you watched Jay Leno yesterday when Simon was on, they said he thought David Cook would probably win. So, we’ll see what happens. Personally, I don’t plan on watching it but I’m sure I’ll hear it all other the news, internet and radio tomorrow morning… great…

Wow, the San Antonio Spurs are Truly a Veteran Team - Beats the Hornets

Written by Jay on May 20, 2008 – -

tony parker and the spurs beat the hornetsI’m not going to lie to you, I was slightly cheering for the San Antonio Spurs last night to come back and take the series against the New Orlean Hornets. I didn’t think they could fully do it, especially since they were down 2-0 and not many teams come back from that in the playoffs. But the Spurs just showed why they are a true veteran team and why they won four championships.

Now, I am a Chris Paul fan but the Hornets are a pretty young team and if you watched the series, the Spurs kept their composure the entire team, even when they were facing elimination. I mean, did you see all heated emotions out of the Hornets? They were letting things get to their heads. Again, that’s why the Spurs are the veteran team who has won four championships and looking for their fifth.

They just need to get past the Laker and the winner of the Celtics and Pistons series. Yup, I’m biased, I’m cheering for the Celtics all the way. Though, they have a long way to go.

But for Chris Paul and the Hornets, their time will come. Same thing for Lebron James, his time will come. I can guarantee they will not end up like the Karl Malones and the John Stocktons who were great players that never won a championship.

Celebs Gather at iBeatYou.com - Social Networking in Competition!

Written by Jay on May 18, 2008 – -

jessica alba

Recently, someone introduced me to this site iBeatYou.com which is an interesting social networking site in which you challenge people in any competition you can think of. But the thing that really caught me was the fact that celebrities participate in them and they actually (seem) have fun with us ordinary folks.
Okay, so the site was founded by a celebrity, Baron Davis of the Golden State Warriors and a couple of his friends but does it matter who really found it, it’s a great idea to begin with!
And yes, you can compete in anything that you can think of - staring contests, most freethrows in a minute, best picture with a celebrity, etc.
This is a great site, though, I hope I don’t get extremely addicted to it. But it’s so hard! I mean, celebrities such as Baron Davis, 2-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and yes, the beautiful Jessica Alba are just a few to mention that actively has fun on that site.
I’m rather new to it as I just found out about it yesterday but wouldn’t you want to beat Jessica Alba in a staring contest? Or maybe beat Steve Nash in a freethrow contest? It seems limitless in what you could challenge people, and I’m definitely a competitor!
So, I challenge YOU, Jessica Alba! Steve Nash! Baron Davis! But most importantly, I challenge YOU iBlogtoBlog readers!

Will the No. 1 NBA Seeds (Lakers, Celtics) Make it to the Next Round?

Written by Jay on May 16, 2008 – -

lakers versus celtics, magic versus birdForget the Pistons, the Magic, the Spurs, the Hornets… my question is “will the number 1 seeds make it past the second round?” And secondly, will the Lakers and Celtics make it the finals for a 1980’s flashback? Larry Bird versus Magic Johnson days but it’ll be Kobe versus Kevin… but it doesn’t look too good for either team.

Take the Boston Celtics (my hometown), yes they are winning 3-2 in the 7-game series against the Clevelan Cavs but that is pretty deceiving. Why? Well, they haven’t won a road game in the playoffs!

Don’t get me wrong, technically, they don’t need to because they have home-court advantage throughout the playoffs because they had the best record in the regular season but if they happen to lose that one game at home, there goes their chances.

Now, the Lakers. Same thing like the Celtics, they are up 3-2 in the 7-game series against the Utah Jazz but Mr. MVP Kobe Bryant is not playing 100 percent. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t stop him in game 5!

Tonight, both the Celtics and Lakers are playing game 6 on their opponents court, honestly, I’m hoping they win. Personally, I don’t care if the Lakers win but I definitely want to Celtics to win, even though I’m a Lebron James fan.

So, let’s go Celtics!

Oh, and I have a feeling the San Antonio Spurs might come through in game 7 against the Hornets. I mean, there’s a reason why they have won 4 championships in the last 9 years. Plus, the Hornets are a young team and Chris Paul simply can’t do it all by himself!

Yes, I Put Entrecard on Here… But NO I Will Not…

Written by Jay on May 14, 2008 – -

Yes, I decided to put Entrecard on here even though I have not been a big fan of it. Well, not of it but rather the Entrecard cult, chain droppers, drop and dashers, etc. The reason I decided to put it on here is simply the fact that I know a lot of people share the same interests and I want to get the word out there.

I already have it on a couple of my other blogs but no, I am not a Entrecard dropper. I just wanted to make that clear. And a lot of people are Entrecard addicts and need help. Find out if you are an Entrecard addict here!

Matter of fact, below is a list of things you will NOT see me doing, in regards to Entrecard, at least not on iBlogtoBlog.com

I will not

- reciprocate Entrecard drops
- hold Entrecard contests
- join Entrecard cults, reciprocal groups, etc
- enter Entrecard contests
- not visit your blog if a majority of your posts are Entrecard-related
- well, mostly Entrecard-related things

But what I will do…

- I will network with other bloggers
- I will help out when I can
- Basically, nothing against my norms

I just wanted to kind of make things clear so there will be no confusion. If you like my blog, then great, I hope you leave a comment and your blog URL and I will check out your blog. And if I like it, I’ll consider subscribing as well! But just because you advertise on my Entrecard widget, it doesn’t mean that I will check out your blog… Just a heads up…

It’s Official - Jimmy Fallon is the New Late Night Host

Written by Jay on May 13, 2008 – -

jimmy fallon is the new late night hostIt’s made official, Jimmy Fallon will be the new late night host replacing Conan O’Brien.

So, let me go on record to say, I told two close friends of mine about this about a month ago and they didn’t believe me. I said that Jimmy Fallon was taking over for Conan O’Brien and that Conan was taking over for Jay Leno. Of course, they never believe me but that’s just fine. I like saying “I told you so!” And yes, I called them and left messages for them in a professional manner stating “ha ha, I told you so… again!”

Honestly, I don’t think Jimmy Fallon will do a good job replacing Conan O’Brien but that’s just my personal opinion. He’s funny, at times, but for the most part, he’s a little corny.

Luckily he has writers, huh?

But even with writers, you have to ad lib quite a lot and I know he’s coming from a Saturday Night Live background, but he didn’t do too much on there either. But we should give him a chance, at least. I just wanted to go on record to say that I don’t think he’s going to be a good replacement.

Now, what’s happening with Jay Leno?

Well, I’m hearing a few different things. I heard that he announced his retirement sometime back in like 2004 or something so when his contract runs out, he was simply going to retire. On the other hand, I heard he wanted to stay but decisions have already been made. But Leno is talented enough that I’m sure it won’t be hard for him to get a new job; whatever it will be.

Now, Conan O’Brien, I think he’s pretty funny but I’m not sure if I want to see him replace Leno. That’s just my personal opinion. But maybe I was just used to Leno and all the stuff he has on his show? Will that change? Probably. But I hope they don’t get rid of a lot of things that’s currently on the show.

Oh, and what about Kevin Eubanks and the Tonight Show band? Are they going to still be there? Or are they out of a job too? Is Conan taking his band with him? I would assume so. But I guess nothing is official official until 2009.

So, we’ll have to wait until then!
