I’m a huge fan of Texas Holdem Poker, just like the next guy. I feel it’s like a game of chess for lawyers. You need to lie to convince others in a game of strategy. So, how do you play poker? Well, I’m only going to focus on Texas Holdem Poker and if you guys are ever up for a game, let me know! (Of course online poker isn’t the same as playing in person).

How to play Texas Holdem Poker? Well, the rules are pretty simple, it’s your game play that separates you from the losers and winners.

The rules:

The game starts off with a dealer, at least two players, a small and big blind, chips (or cash) and a 52-card deck.

1. Typically, we start off by dealing one card face up to determine who is going to start off as “the dealer.” The person with the highest card will start.

2. Once the dealer is determined, the first person to the left of the dealer has to toss in a forced ante, or the “small blind.” The second person to the left of the dealer then puts in a larger forced ante, or the “big blinds.” The small and big blinds can be made up to any number. Though, generally the big blinds is twice the amount of the small (ex. $1/$2, $2/$4, $3/$6, etc).

3. After the small and big blinds are in, the dealer deals two cards face down to everyone at the table, starting with the person on his left.

4. Once everyone has their cards, the first person “to act” would be the person to the left of the big blinds. They would have the option of calling the bet (big blinds), raise it, or fold. Betting continues around the table, clockwise. If no one raises the big blinds, the person who put had the forced ante (big blinds) has the option to simply check.

Tip: Playing your position at the table is a very important part of the game. If you are the last person at the table “to act” then you want to bet so people don’t get free hands.

5. After the betting is completed, three cards are dealt face up in the center of the table, which is also referred to as the “board.” The first three cards that are dealt in Texas Holdem Poker is called “the flop.” These cards are “community cards” in which everyone can use them in combination with their own cards to make the best hand.

6. From the flop on, betting begins with the person to the left of the dealer, who can check or bet. The dealer is the last to act, so again, play your positions carefully.

7. After betting is completed, a fourth card is dealt face up on the board which is called “the turn.”

8. After another round of betting, the final card dealt face up is called “the river.”

9. Once betting is finished, the remaining players show their cards to see who makes the best five cards. The person who makes the initial bet (or the last person to initiate the bet) is the first person who would turn over their cards.

Keep in mind: In some occasions in Texas Holdem Poker, the five cards on the board could possibly be the best hand. In which case the “pot” (the money from the betting) is split among the active players.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is probably the most anticipated video game to hit the stores this year, and with new games comes cheats. So, who doesn’t want to have some fun with Grand Theft Auto 4 cheats?

I’m sure everyone has heard of this controversy about Miley Cyrus (also known to many as Disney’s Hannah Montana) who had her picture taken for the magazine, Vanity Fair. Well, the picture as you can see on the left is an image of Miley Cyrus wrapped in sheets with the “portrayal” of her being nude.

So, what’s the big deal?

Well, to many, the image represented Miley Cyrus being completely nude under those sheets but the catch is the fact that she’s only 15-years-old. Yes, a minor who had her picture taken for Vanity Fair magazine with the intent of her being nude. But everyone should also know, she was not nude. Matter of fact, she was basically fully clothed under those sheets but everyone made a big deal out of it.

No, she was not topless either. And if you think about it, I’m sure Cyrus wears bikini’s when she goes to the beach. So, how come people aren’t making a huge deal out of that? I mean, she’s more “nude” on the beach than she was in that picture.

Okay, I know she’s an icon for little tiny boppers and she probably has tons of teenage girls who want to be like her, but it doesn’t mean people are going to try and pose nude. And people are going to continue to debate this issue and stir things up to cause controversy but honestly, is it really necessary?

I bet if she was 18 or 21, people would still make a big deal out of it but just take on it from a different perspective. But hey, any publicity is good publicity, right?

And it’s not stopping them from making money.

Not long after Iron Man blew away it’s competition in the box office, Marvel Studios announced that Robert Downey Jr has signed up for the comic book adaption sequel which is due to be released in 2010.

Well, good for Robert Downey Jr, because I think he played one great Tony Stark/Iron Man. And this just shows that actors with off-screen problems can bounce back. And for those who didn’t know, he battled drug problems which took affect on his career.

But let’s get back to the Iron Man sequel which is set to be released in 2010. I have a feeling that War Machine, Iron Man’s allie is going to be introduced.

Also, it’s said that the Marvel movies have been such a success that they’re probably going to have motion picture films of Thor, Captain America and The Avengers before the release of the Iron Man sequel.

Yup, I knew they were going to have The Avengers made into a movie, I mean, just read my “Iron Man Spoiler” post and you’ll know!

Lastly, for the record, I read that Iron Man actually just missed the $100M mark on it’s opening day weekend. It’s said the final showings were about $98.6M.

If you guys were in such anticipation for the new Dark Knight trailer to be released, well, you don’t have to wait anymore! The second full length trailer for the new Batman movie is up and it just keeps looking better and better each time.

I first saw the full trailer during the previews of the Iron Man movie, but if you haven’t seen the Iron Man movie yet and you don’t want to wait to see the new trailer, you can check it out the second full length trailer here.

But the second trailer of the new Batman movie seems to give a little more details than the first one. Don’t get me wrong, it still leaves you in suspense but this time around, it’s not just a few words, a few Joker laughs and quick snippets. They actually show some more scenes and like I said, it just hypes up the movie even more.

I know I tend to make some predictions but I get a feeling this movie is going to go over the $100M mark just like the Iron Man movie this past weekend. I have a feeling it might even dethrone the Spider-Man 3 box office earnings for the first three days in the theaters.

Why do I think that?

It’s simple, the movie looks great. The movie is hyped up. Everyone who saw the first one will want to see this Christian Bale sequel (he did a great job in the first movie). This was almost the last movie Heath Ledger filmed so every one of his fans will pay their respects to his final film. Lastly, it’s the Dark Knight, you can’t go wrong with that!
