Sprint Nextel Really Sucks? Are Their Stocks Falling?

sprint sucks logoI swear, the more people talk about cell phones, the more I hear people say “Stay away from Sprint Nextel… they suck!” So, why do they suck so much? How are they so different from all the other cell phone carriers? Well, they are obviously different due to the high number of people complaining about Sprint - and no, it’s not only their reception.

Before I continue, I am currently still a Sprint/Nextel customer but I had my share of problems with them. Besides the fact that their customer service sucks (most of them have absolutely no idea what they’re doing), here’s a few examples of my problems I had with them:

- They had a glinch in their systems years back and when I went to check how many anytime minutes I had, it stated I had plenty. Of course, I was never informed of this glinch and they ended up charging me $200 on a $50 bill. Of course, I complained like their was no tomorrow and I was credited back a large portion but not the whole thing.
- I called to ask a question on how to transfer all my phone stuff (images, phone books, recordings, etc) and of course they told me I needed to some software. Not believing them, I went a Sprint store (bad move!) and they told me they don’t sell that software I was told and I should try going to Sprint.com/download and I did and no luck. I then tried calling them again (bad move #2!) and they gave me the run around and I got nowhere. After waiting a month or two later, I called again and this time they told me I did not need any software, but the simple USB cord. Yup, it that finally worked. But notice how I wasted like a couple months.

There were a few other examples, but I can’t remember. But you’re probably wondering why I’m still with them? Well, one day a Sprint representative called me to just check if I was satisfied with the service. My reply was “Are you kidding me? Is this a trick question?” Then I proceeded to tell them my bad experiences and went into details on the problems I ran into.

And this is the reason why I stayed with them…

They replied and saw all my problems on record that they ended up compensating me a few things. They gave me an additional 120 minutes of anytime usage, free nights and weekends (I didn’t have that before), unlimited text and took off $5/month from my bill. And no, I didn’t need to sign a two-year agreement.

Of course, others just continue to have problems with Sprint and never get any type of compensation. Take Allen Harkleroad, he started an entire site dedicated to the despise of Sprint. You can visit it at Sprint-really-sucks.com.

Allen, a pretty cool social media buddy of mine brings up all these bad experiences and why you should not sign with Sprint… ever! Some examples of his problems, he got ripped off by a $50,000 bill… yes, you read correctly, $50,000! Also, he put an example of a person who was hit with a $500 bill and the customer service told him that he was irresponsible and they didn’t care about his problem.

Hearing about all these complaints (especially the ones in person) sucks to hear, I think I really may have to reconsider my cell phone carrier for the long run.

Don’t believe me, just Google “Sprint Sucks” and you’ll see hundreds of thousands of rants and complaints.

Oh, and one last thing I found was this letter from Sprint to a former customer in which the customer called to complain and Sprint decided to terminate their service. It almost looks like a generic letter which makes me think they get a lot of these! Click the image below to read the letter.
