Written by Jay on September 24, 2008 – -

I started doing NFL picks each week and have been posting it on another blog which has been working out great. But I figured I’d start putting my NFL weekly picks and predictions on my personal blog so you guys can challenge me too!

Since I started picking at Week 2, I have compiled a record of 20-9 and there was a few tough losses (for instance, the Chargers losing to the Broncos), I should be somewhere around 23-6 or 24-5ish.

Anyways, here are my Week 4 NFL predictions and picks.

Matt Millen Fired as Lions Team President

Written by Jay on September 24, 2008 – -

It appears the Detroit Lions had enough with their losing ways and fired Matt Millen as their team president as well as their general manager.

It was first reported by Fox Sports that Matt Millen was leaving his position but no one was sure whether or not he was resigning or if he was being fired. Well, it seems pretty clear about the internet that he was in fact fired as of Wednesday.

I’m not going to bash Millen but it was bound to come. I mean, there was an entire movement that included fans, reporters, radio stations, and even Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. who is the Lions vice chairman, that wanted him fired quite sometime ago.

And who blames them?

Since Matt Millen was hired, the Lions have been the worst team in the NFL while combining a record of 31-84. That includes this year’s 0-3 start.

He was also the second-highest paid GM in the NFL and that being said, that’s definitely overpaid. Like I said the worst team-record since he was hired!

For the record, he also had some bad NFL draft picks from 2003-2007 by picking a wide receiver in the first round in each one of those years. And currently, two of those players aren’t even playing in the NFL anymore.

So, good luck to the new president of the Lions and GM whoever they are!

Travis Barker Plane Crash

Written by Jay on September 20, 2008 – -

Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker plane crash took place last night and as of this morning, Travis Barker and DJ AM a.k.a. Adam Goldstein are in the hospital in critical condition.

It looks like the Lear jet that was carrying both Barker and Goldstein crashed shortly after take-off. It was reported that the jet went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.

It is said that there were four total causalities which included two passengers and two flight attendants.

Barker and Goldstein was in South Carolina playing a free concert before boarding the plane. They were taken to a hospital in Augusta, Georgia, where they are treating them for severe burns.

As of right now, that’s all the information that was released. I’ll keep you updated when I find out more.

Chad Johnson “Ocho Cinco” Name Change

Written by Jay on September 5, 2008 – -

ocho cinco name change

Ocho Cinco Name Change is official! Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson managed to legally get his name changed to "Ocho Cinco" which is his nickname and his jersey number, 85.

Is it just me or Chad Johnson just took his extreme acts to the next level? I mean, he basically changed his name to Ocho Cinco so he could get that printed as the last name on the back of his jersey. Originally, he requested the NFL to change it but they denied the request because it was just his nickname. And now that he legally changed it, the NFL had no choice to approve his request this time around.

Well, Chad Ocho Cinco, your name new will be on your Cincinnati Bengals uniform on opening day against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday.

It’d be hilarious if someone made him change his jersey number if he was to ever get traded. LOL!

Check out this hilarious video interview with him urging reporters to call him "Ocho Cinco."
