Week 4 NFL Predictions
Written by Jay on September 24, 2008 – -
I started doing NFL picks each week and have been posting it on another blog which has been working out great. But I figured I’d start putting my NFL weekly picks and predictions on my personal blog so you guys can challenge me too!
Since I started picking at Week 2, I have compiled a record of 20-9 and there was a few tough losses (for instance, the Chargers losing to the Broncos), I should be somewhere around 23-6 or 24-5ish.
Anyways, here are my Week 4 NFL predictions and picks.
Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers: My pick – Panthers win 24-14
Prediction: Michael Turner will have a big game on the ground but it won’t be enough against the Panthers. Steve Smith will have his first 100+ yards receiving this year and also have his first TD.
Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals: My pick – Bengals win 28-24
I know, I know, I’m going with the underdogs with the Bengals but I feel Housh will have another big game here and the Bengals offense will actually look better. Plus, Derek Anderson has so much pressure on him he won’t be the same. Looks like Brady Quinn might get his first start sooner than expected!
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars: My pick – Jaguars win 24-10
Did you see the Jags run game make the Colts defense look horrible last week? Well, they’re going to do the same this week against the Texans. Plus, the Texans played pretty bad last week.
Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs: My pick – Broncos win 31-14
I think this game will just be a complete blowout. The Chiefs have no QB that’s good and everyone is going to stack the line against Larry Johnson. Look for another big passing game from Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall in this blowout victory from the Broncos.
San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints: My pick – Saints win 35-28
This will be a high-scoring game with 49ers RB Frank Gore having a big game on the ground. Unfortunately, it won’t be enough against the Saints’ explosive offense even without Colston and Shockey. Drew Brees will have yet another big passing game with over 300+ yards.
Arizona Cardinals at NY Jets: My pick – Cardinals win 28-24
Who’s the better former-MVP QB? Well, right now it has to be Kurt Warner and I think he will ride that to a victory against the NY Bretts. The Jets aren’t going to be as a good as everyone thinks even with indecisive Brett Favre.
Look for Warner to have a big passing game to his favorite WR Fitsgerald.
Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Bucs: My pick – Packers win 24-17
The Packers are good but not that good as we saw from their defeat against the best NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. But still, Rodgers is better than what people were saying of him at the start of the season.
Look for WR Antonio Bryant of the Bucs to have another big game as well as every WR for the Packers.
Minnesota Vikings at Tennessee Titans: My pick – Titans win 17-10
Neither team has a good QB but both of them have a great running game. I’m going to have to go with the Titans on this one only because I think Kerry Collins is the better QB of the two.
But I think this will be a low-scoring game.
San Diego Chargers at Oakland Raiders: My pick – Chargers win 38-13
This is a no-contest game and the Chargers will have yet another big scoring game similar to what they did against the Jets last week. This time they’re facing a worse team so look for a complete blowout from beginning to end.
L.T. and his backup Spores will have a big game on the ground.
Buffalo Bills at St. Louis Rams: My pick – Bills win 24-14
The Rams are trying not to be the worst team in the league but it’s just so hard! On the other hand, the Bills are trying to surprise everyone in the league by starting 4-0 which is a very doable feat against a team that just doesn’t have that chemistry to win games.
Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys: My pick – Cowboys win 28-17
The Redskins are good but unfortunately, they’re in the same division as the best team in the NFL, the Cowboys. You won’t catch me picking against the Cowboys too many times this year, I mean, they’re probably the most talented team right now!
Redskins DE Jason Taylor isn’t playing this week and every time has a tough time against the Cowboys’ O-line to begin with. Look for the entire Cowboys offense to have another big game, especially Marion Barber.
Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears: My pick – Eagles win 21-17
I think this will be a relatively low-scoring game if Westbrook doesn’t play. I like Bears’ rookie RB Matt Forte but come on, he’s the focal point of the Bears’ offense and the Eagles see that and their blitz package will stop that.
Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers: My pick – Steelers win 17-14
The offense from both ends won’t play a huge part of this game but rather the defense. I almost feel this is going to be a sloppy game but a big running game from both sides.
Anyways, those are my NFL week 4 picks and predictions!
