Shaq vs. Nash vs. McGrady vs. Alston vs. Barnes – Who Gets It Worse?

Written by Jay on November 13, 2008 – -

I hope you guys liked the trash talking video of Kevin Garnett and Jose Calderon from the other day because this time we actually have some fighting going on.

The other night when the Phoenix Suns played the Houston Rockets, there was a shoving match with both teams. Matter of fact, there were a lot of people involved and even more people trying to make the entire thing up.

Think about it like this. If this was baseball, both benches would have been cleared.

I guess it all started when Suns forward Matt Barnes was trying to run through a screen and pushed Rockets guard Rafer Alston. Of course, the Rockets weren’t having that and the Suns weren’t having that and, well, just watch the video.

For the record, I thought it was hilarious that Steve Nash got tossed to the ground like a ragdoll by Tracy McGrady. Oh, and also, Barnes and Alston got ejected and McGrady, Nash and Shaq all ended up with technical fouls.

Kevin Garnett versus Jose Calderon in Trash Talking

Written by Jay on November 12, 2008 – -

Okay, was it just me or the other night when Kevin Garnett was trash talking back and forth with Jose Calderon just crazy hype! I mean, it made me get back into the spirit of basketball, competitive sports and the hype of getting up and saying "Hell yeah!"

We all know the NBA and professional sports have toned down a lot. They cut out a lot of the trash talking, taunting, and somewhat, the competitive spark that gets the crowd hyped up.

Nowadays in the NBA, if you say anything that’s barely considered trash talking and the refs hear it, you get a technical or even tossed out the game. I never liked that. Don’t get me wrong, I know they’re trying to be a positive influence on sports fans but seriously, it just makes the NBA a little boring, don’t you think?

Anyways, when I saw Boston Celtics forward, Kevin Garnett, clapping his hands and pointing in the face of Toronto Raptors guard Jose Calderon while he was dribbling upcourt, I was like "hell yeah!" Of course, Calderon wasn’t having any of that because he was yelling back at Garnett.

And if you missed it, here’s the video of Garnet trash talking Calderon. It’s great!

Allen Iverson Traded to Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups

Allen Iverson traded to Pistons for Chauncey Billups

In a shocking move by the Detroit Pistons, they traded for All-Star Point Guard Allen Iverson in exchange for former MVP Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess.

This was an interesting move considering the fact that the Pistons were winning with Billups and McDyess. But I think the move was basically to aim higher into the future.

Yes, I’m talking about winning NBA titles but Joe Dumars, the Pistons president, wants to eventually land the Cavs All-Star, Lebron James.

Lebron James is arguably one of the best talents in basketball today but he has yet to win a championship so he’s missing that factor. And until he wins, people won’t consider him the best player in the game today.

Just think about it, the Pistons who are a pretty good team and now they add Iverson as “the Answer”, they’re just waiting for one missing link – King James.

Honestly, I’m not sure how AI will fit into the mix, especially playing on the same court as hotheaded Wallace but we’ll see how that goes. But let’s say Billups, on the other hand, will definitely help Carmelo Anthony out a lot more.

All I know is, Iverson better step up quick because I have him in my fantasy basketball league!
