Since the NBA Playoffs are underway as of this past weekend, I decided I’m going to announce my own NBA Playoff predictions 2009 and no, that does not include the Celtics winning and defending their championship. (And yes, I’m from Boston and I am a fan but I have to be realistic here).

Let’s say with the Celtics for example. I know you guys seen them win it last year even though they struggled against most of the teams they faced throughout the playoffs. And some of you guys are thinking the same exact thing for this year. But the difference: there will be no Kevin Garnett!

Hey, I was at Game 6 last year when they beat the Lakers to win the championship but without KG there, it’s going to be hard as hell. I’m not saying they can’t win, I just don’t think they will. They did prove they could win without him in the regular season but we all know its do-or-die in the playoffs and the atmosphere is completely different.

Personally, I don’t think anyone is going to touch the Lakers out west. Don’t get me wrong, there are good teams out there but no one really proved they can take it away from the Lakers this year (or even last year). Tell me who can beat them?

The Cavs! But that will mean they will meet in the NBA finals 2009! And yes, I do think this year King James will win his first ring and live up to his hype of being arguably one of the best players ever to play the game. He actually has a supporting cast now and they proved they could have the best record in the league so why not prove they can beat everyone else in the playoffs.

So, that’s my prediction. Love it or hate it… I think its the Cavs this year!
