Kanye West, Taylor Swift, VMAs 2009… man, they just love the controversy, huh? Well, if you haven’t heard by now, Taylor Swift won an award and Kanye West (who loves to say stupid things) rudely got on stage, took the mic and basically said Beyonce should have won the award… then left.

Kanye West, VMAs just don’t go together. Matter of fact, any award show and Kanye West don’t really go together. And his PR team must’ve forced him to apologize cause he did that the very next day.

But Beyonce got a lot of brownie points from it because when she won the video of the year award, she asked Taylor Swift to come out to give her speech since she didn’t get a chance to earlier.

Of course, everyone thought that was pretty sweet of Beyonce. Hey, I think that was good for her especially for the fan base. But don’t be surprised if her PR team told her to do that.

Tedy Bruschi, 13 year veteran linebacker of the New England Patriots, announced his retirement today.

A leader on and off the field, a working man’s player and ever the under-sized underdog, it was becoming uncomfortably apparent to any casual observer during the preseason games that this possible future Hall of Famer had lost a step.

Realizing this himself, the biggest Bill Bellichick Kool-Ade-drinker of them all stepped up one last time, took one for the team, and gracefully stepped down.

“My job is done.” he said in his retirement announcement.

In this age of millionaire free agents, Tedy Bruschi is an anomaly. A consensus All-American while playing with the University of Arizona’s famous, “Desert Swarm,” defense, the Pro Bowler stayed a Patriot through the entire course of his career.

A mild stroke set him on his heels in 2005 and, following minor heart surgery, his comeback is one for the medical and pro sports’ history books.

He documented that progress in a book he authored called, “Never Give Up: My Stroke & My Recovery to the NFL,” and he has recently spent some time on the lecture circuit and is also a spokesman for the American Heart Association.

While Tedy’s immediate future is unclear (coaching is always possibility for this master motivator,) his charisma (remember his “crab” pose in the opening segments of ‘Monday Night Football,”) coupled with his reputation as being a family man (recently highlighted in a cute Papa Gino’s commercial) has certainly set the stage for possible new adventures in the public spotlight.
