Unemployment Rate Highest Since ‘86

unemployment rate highest since 1986If you’re worried about job security, I don’t think you should continue reading. Well, actually, you should because everyone who will need a job, have a job could well be out of a job soon!

In the month of May, Beyonce, Alicia Keys or Jay-Z tickets aren’t the hottest tickets around. It seems pink slips have been given out to quite a large crowd. Matter of fact, it was given out to so many people that 49,000 jobs were eliminated in the month of May, which is a 5.5 percent increase from the previous month.

So, yes, the nation’s unemployment rate skyrocketed 5.5 percent in the biggest one-month jump in over 20 years.

To make matters worse, oil prices claimed to a record high and it doesn’t seem like it’s going down anytime soon. In addition, if you’re getting paid in dollars, that’s not necessarily a good thing as the value of the dollar has fell even more.

Of course, we can blame the President and the government. Yeah, they might seem like they’re going out to try to do something but honestly, they should have been doing that a quite sometime ago.

According to Friday’s Labor Department report:

- Employers eliminated 49,000 jobs in May
- The number of unemployed people grew by 861,000 and now sits at 8.5 million
- Job losses this year alone has reached 324,000

What’s going on with the United States of America? The economy is raising… the gas prices are soaring… food prices will take a giant leap in cost… tons of people are getting laid off and unemployed… and the dollar value is dropping.

This is what happens when you vote for an idiot for president… TWICE!

Congratulations to Obama for Clinching Democratic Nomination

Written by Jay on June 4, 2008 – -

obama
Senator Barack Obama claimed the Democratic Presidential nomination last night after a very hard fought battle with Senator Hilary Clinton. Of course, either way this will go down in history as Obama became the first black candidate to lead a major party’s presidential nomination.

Personally, I didn’t get a chance to watch his victory speech but I heard it was a very powerful speech. I may youtube later… though, I read that before he commits his energy to the presumptive Republican nomiee John McCain, he first needs to do some work in unifying the Democratic party.

I believe I read that there were quite a number of Clinton supporters that would rather vote for McCain or not vote at all in November. I think that’s another reason why Clinton should run with Obama.

I mean, speculations show that Clinton and Obama need each other to help win for the Democratic party. But we shouldn’t jump the gun just yet until they make it official… if that happens.

NYPD Officers Acquitted in the Sean Bell Case

Written by Jay on April 27, 2008 – -

This past Friday, I found out that the three NYPD officers that let off 50 shots that killed an innocent man the day before his wedding were all acquitted from their charges. And I’m still pissed off due to that fact.

But Detectives Gescard Isnora, Michael Oliver and Marc Cooper were all acquitted, so essentially, they all got away with murder and that just tells me that this justice system protects its own but doesn’t help the innocent. This just shows how police officers can get away with so much, and it happens every single day.

Matter of fact, I bet there are more occasions where police officers abuse their privileges than people getting into car accidents. And that’s saying a lot. But I’m sure we have all seen it, some may not even notice when police officers abuse their privileges. I mean, some need to meet their quotas in giving out a specific number of tickets per day/week or some just need to run red lights to get to Dunkin Donuts faster because they need their caffeine and honey glazed. Of course, purchased with their 50 percent discount.

Now, I’ll go on record to say not every cop is bad or abuse their privileges, but most of them do. At least all the ones I have seen or encountered.

Honestly, I don’t want to go into details on those NYPD police officers getting acquitted for murdering an innocent man, Sean Bell. If you want more details, feel free to read it at DatMoney.com.

But be careful when it comes to cops, cause I’m not sure who they’re really protecting!
