Garth Brooks says he is coming out of retirement

Holding a press conference on Thursday, Garth Brooks says he is coming out of retirement.

Ummm… okay.

His big reason for leaving the big arenas in the first place was to watch his kids grow up.
Then his wife, Sandy Mahl, divorced him.

Why is Garth Brooks coming back?
At his press conference, part of his speech was, “if the fans want me, I still want to pursue my music.”

Okay – Why is Brooks really coming back?
More than likely, the kids are growing up and leaving too fast and second wife, Trisha Yearwood, needs the 47 year old to get a life if they’re going to stay together.

Should Garth Brooks come out of retirement?
He isn’t so sure himself, call the music business, “… a young industry.” (duh)
The world is a different place and his established audience has probably moved on.

Plus:
He’s got a career award… should be a hint.
Back when they had these things called Albums he sold more of them than Elvis (Presley). That’s over 123 million of the suckers.
That’s a lot of downloads.

Isn’t that enough?

Can he handle a tour?
We all heard about what happened to Steven Tyler earlier this year while he was on tour.
Bad things can happen to those who think they’re still 25… just ask John Entwistle of The Who… oh, that’s right… we can’t.

Brooks has said that any tour would not commence until his youngest daughter turns 18. Now at age 13, if she’s anything like most teenagers, she has already started seeing “Dear Ole Dad” as a Human ATM with no monthly fees and he’s getting anxious to not be home to listen to the begging.
Still, that gives him plenty of time to work with a personal trainer… Garth was looking a little retired around the middle before he officially hung up his microphone.

The most talked-about place for a Brooks comeback is where most old should-have-given-it-up-twenty-years-ago pop and country stars wind up coming out of retirement… Las Vegas, baby.

As Brooks was a marketing major in college, he should have few problems sizing up the data and re-branding himself.

It’ll be fun to watch the comeback unfold and see if he does tour or winds up opening for Yakov Smirnoff in Branson, Missouri.
