Burn Notice Season 3 Episode 8

The Season 3 Episode 8 of Burn Notice is titled, “Friends Like These,” and first aired on the USA Network on July 30, 2009.
The guest cast included Callie Thorne (Natalie Rice), Kristof Konrad (Milovan Dragas), and Otto Sanchez (Diego Garza) and Paul Tei (Barry).

In this eighth episode, nearing the end of Season 3, we find Michael Westen (played by Jeffrey Donovan) finally agreeing to work with Stickler (Ben Shenkman) in a desperate attempt to get his old spy job back.

What seems to be an easy surveillance assignment gets more complicated when an old associate (Barry) calls in all favors from Michael in order to get his money-laundering ledger back from a ruthless and conniving thief.

We see Michael becoming more self-absorbed in his career ambitions as he starts to treat his family and friends more as expendable pawns in the spy game.

He puts his mother, Madeline (Sharon Gless), on the surveillance assignment, asks his friend, Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell), to give up his rented villa for a long interrogation (and help him with the dirty deed), and even shows his ferocious side to his girlfriend, Fiona Glenanne (Gabrielle Anwar), supposedly as part of his under-cover act.

Towards the end of this episode, Fiona is not only fed up with Michael’s recent behavior, but we also realize that, while being the Queen of C4 in the big, bad spy world, Fi is actually human and is a more vulnerable target than we originally thought.
