Adrian Beltre = Red Sox

Written by Jay on January 5, 2010 – -

Well, it looks like rumors are about to become reality as Adrian Beltre is close to becoming a Red Sox. There have been a lot of speculations for quite a while with the third baseman and the Red Sox but it is said that they have come to an one-year agreement with a second year option.

The details are still being looked at but last time I read, the two agreed on a one-year deal worth $9 million and a second year option worth $5 million. The $5 million can possibly increase to $10 million based on incentives and I think the large one was plate appearances of 640 or more need to be reached.

Personally, I would have gone with the other Adrian on the market… Adrian Gonzalez, the free agent first baseman slugger and simply move Youkilis from first to third. But I guess the Red Sox was simply trying to improve the defense drastically as they were one of the worst in 2009.

But we’ll see what happens… nothing is official yet and Beltre has to pass a physical. I’m sure you guys heard about the Mike Lowell trade falling through the cracks!

World Series Schedule 2009

Written by Jay on October 21, 2009 – -

The World Series are just around the corner so get the World Series Schedule 2009 now so you don’t forget it when it comes at full force at you. I mean, it looks like its going to be the Yankees against the defending champion Phillies. One team is the richest and most known in the world and the other is a young team defending their title.

Anyways, I don’t exactly want to jinx anything (even though I already have) but unless something drastic happens, I think both are going to make it.

But the World Series Schedule 2009 starts next week and it is as follows:

Game 1 – NL @ AL – Wednesday Oct. 28th
Game 2 – NL @ AL – Thursday Oct. 29th
Game 3 – AL @ NL – Saturday Oct. 31st
Game 4 – AL @ NL – Sunday Nov. 1st
Game 5 (if necessary) – AL @ NL – Monday Nov. 2nd
Game 6 (if necessary) – NL @ AL – Wednesday Nov. 4th
Game 7 (if necessary) – NL @ AL – Thursday Nov. 5th

That about wraps on the entire World Series Schedule and Dates 2009.

Enjoy!

Youkilis Fight Video

Written by Jay on August 12, 2009 – -

If you missed the game or any sports news cast, then you have to see the Youkilis fight video. Just a couple of days ago, when the Red Sox and Detroit Tigers were playing, Youkilis got hit with a pinch and charged the mound.

The fight was crazy. Youkilis gets hit, charges the mound, the pitcher steps back like he was about to run, Youkilis throws his helmet at him, misses and then gets slammed to the floor by the pitcher

The pitcher, Rick Porcello, actually put him to the floor before both benches cleared.

Anyways, if you missed the Youkilis fight then you can check out the video below:

Cliff Lee Traded to the Phillies

Written by Jay on July 29, 2009 – -

It looks like last year’s AL Cy Young Winner Cliff Lee was traded to the Phillies. The Phillies were aiming to get a Cy Young pitcher and there were a lot of talks to try to get Roy Halladay but since the Blue Jays were asking for too much, the Phillies got their hands on another Cy Young winner.

The Cliff Lee to Phillies trade also included outfielder Ben Francisco in exchange, the Indians would receive a bunch of minor league prospects.

Of course the trade isn’t official just yet. They made the announcements but the actual trade is pending until all the medical stuff gets reviewed.

But those are rare cases in which it doesn’t go through. But the defending MLB Champion Phillies just gotten a little better! Watch out now!

Mark Buehrle Throws Perfect Game

Written by Jay on July 24, 2009 – -

Yesterday, White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle throws a perfect game. And for those who doesn’t think that is a huge accomplishment, there has only been 18 total pitchers in MLB history to throw perfect games.

What makes Mark Buehrle’s perfect game better and exciting is the fact that he did it against last year’s AL champions, Tampa Bay Devil Ray’s. And the offense is pretty good if you ask me! But besides the perfect game, everyone’s talking about Dewayne Wise’s 9th home run rob that saved Buehrle’s perfect game. You can see Wises’ clip below:

Anyways, the last person to throw a perfect game was Randy Johnson in 2004.
