Adam LaRoche Trade: Headed to the Red Sox
Written by Jay on July 22, 2009 – -In the latest trade news, it looks like Adam LaRoche was traded to the Red Sox. The Adam LaRoche trade was for a minor league shortstop and right-handed pitcher.
The rumor became official earlier today. Everyone had speculations especially when the former Pirates first-baseman wasn’t in the lineup today.
LaRoche will rejoin his former teammate, Jason Bay, who has been great for the Red Sox since joining. And if Bay can adapt, I don’t see why LaRoche couldn’t as well.
At the time of the trade, he was leading the Pirates in both home runs as well as RBIs with 12 and 40.
We will see how he handles a big team spotlight.

2009 Home Run Derby Participants
Written by Jay on July 13, 2009 – -Since we’re on the MLB all-star break, let’s get into who the 2009 Home Run Derby participants are. And I’ll be honest with you, I rather see a few different people but since a bunch of them declined on the offer to participar in this years Home Run Derby, it’ll be interesting.
Josh Hamilton who broke the record in total homers and most homers in a single round will not be participating this year. Matter of fact, last years champ, Justin Morneau, won’t be defending his title either.
Instead, a bunch of other hitters will be participating which include MLB home run leader, Albert Pujols, and fan favorite. Also, slugger Ryan Howard will also participat this year. In addition, sluggers such as Adrian Gonzalez, Prince Fielder, and Carlos Pena will also be included.

Manny Ramirez and Steroids: I Knew It!
Written by Jay on May 14, 2009 – -I know this is old news by now but I just wanted to express my opinions on Manny Ramirez and his steroids use. And I’d just like to say “I knew it!”
Of course, we are in the era of steroids when it comes to professional sports. But you guys already knew that so I don’t have to repeat it too many times. But ever since Manny Ramirez went to the Dodgers, his stats have drastically increased.
And I was the idiot who drafted him on my fantasy baseball team because he was putting up such great numbers. Too bad I won’t be using him for the next 50 games or so.

Ken Griffey Jr and the Seattle Mariners Are Going to Have a Great Year!
Written by Jay on March 10, 2009 – -Yes, I’m a Ken Griffey Jr fan and yes I also like the Mariners. And quite frankly, I think the Mariners are definitely going to have a better year than they did last, especially since they have my boy Griffey back on the team!
I know he’s not the same “kid” as he once was but he brings much more than just hitting to the team, he also brings added motivation, determination and guidance to the younger players to get through the rough times.
I mean, they can’t get any worse than they did last year when they lost 100+ games. Their batting lineup seems to be better with a few additions that includes Griffey, their pitching has also been pretty decent (even though they lost key players such as their closer J.J. Putz) but I think they just struggled with runs last year.

My Favorite MLB Ken Griffey Jr is Being Traded to the Chicago White Sox
Written by Jay on July 31, 2008 – -
It looks like Ken Griffey Jrs’ days at Cincinnati are over. Apparently, Griffey is being traded to the Chicago White Sox pending the players decision.
Griffey is a 10-year veteran with at least five years playing for the same team so he holds the veto power over any potential deal involving himself.
But honestly, why wouldn’t Griffey go to Chicago? The White Sox are a contending team, matter of fact they’re in first place in their division right now.
The only downfall is the White Sox play in a hard division. But then again, so does the Reds and they haven’t had a winning season for a while.
There has been no word on who the Chicago White Sox are going to give up for this future hall-of-hamer player. Maybe it’s because Griffey has yet to agree to the trade.
As a huge Griffey fan, I want him to win a World Series. And honestly, I don’t think it will be with the Reds.
We will see what happens.
