NFL Week 2 Picks and Predictions

Written by Jay on September 18, 2009 – -

I won’t hold you guys too long and just jump straight to the NFL Week 2 picks and predictions. I didn’t get to do the first week because I’ve been busy but last year, I had a pretty good record. I believe I had around a 75% win ratio in picks.

Anyways, let’s get to my NFL week 2 picks:

CAR @ ATL – Atlanta Falcons. Did you see how good they were last week with Matt Ryan passing to his new favorite target in Tony Gonzalez. And did you see how bad Carolina looked, especially Delhomme? Well, Falcons for the win at home.

MIN @ DET – Minnesota Vikings. I don’t need an explanation on this one. I mean, the Lions? I’ll pick just about anyone against them weekly. Plus, I don’t think too many good teams can stop RB Peterson, what would make you think the worst team could?

CIN @ GB – Green Bay Packers. The Bengals looked horrible last week and honestly, they should have got blown out instead of losing in the last seconds. Plus, they have no D and Packers have plenty of offense.

HOU @ TEN – Tennessee Titans. The Texans looked pretty out of sync and going against a top defensive team isn’t going to help. Plus, they can’t stop the run and Chris Johnson is going to run up and down the field.

OAK @ KC – Coin flip. But if Matt Cassel plays this week, I’ll go with Kansas City Chiefs. If he doesn’t, then I’ll go with the Raiders. And as of right now, Cassels status is still up in the air.

NE @ NYJ – New England Patriots. I’m just not convinced that a rookie quarterback can defeat the Patriots defense. Plus, Tom Brady is back!

NO @ PHI – New Orleans Saints. Plain and simple, Drew Brees is the better quarterback and will throw a few td’s. Plus, McNabb isn’t going to play so they have no good quarterback right now.

STL @ WAS – Washington Redskins. Rams are still pretty bad so I’ll go with the Redskins who look a lot better in the second half. Too bad they looked bad in the first last week.

ARI @ JAC – Jacksonville Jags. Sorry Cardinals fans, but I think the Jags have good defense and defense wins the game. Plus, Warner just doesn’t look too good right now and Boldin’s status is up in the air too. But I hope he throws a ton to Fitzgerald! He’s on my fantasy team!

SEA @ SF – Seattle Seahawks. I actually like the 49ers in this one because their defense looked pretty good against the Cardinals last week. But the offense looked pretty bad. On the other hand, if Matt Hasselbeck stays healthy, I think he’s going to have a great season. And I think he’s going to have a pretty good game which will open up holes for Julius Jones.

TB @ BUF – Buffalo Bills. They should have beat the Pats last week if it wasn’t for a stupid special teams play. Plus, the Bucs quarterback is iffy.

PIT @ CHI – Pittsburgh Steelers. Defending world champs. Did you see the period after champs? That’s all I really need to say. Plus, it will take some time for Cutler to get in sync with his new team. But it’s a bad time against one of the best defenses.

BAL @ SD – Baltimore Ravens. Their defense has always been great but now they have a quarterback that can light it up with Flacco?! Well, if he has a similar game like last weeks, they should have no problem. Plus, LT might not even play for the Chargers.

CLE @ DEN – Denver Broncos… by default. They got lucky last week against the Bengals but the Browns are simply just worse.

NYG @ DAL – Dallas Cowboys. Their offense looked great. Their defense looked bad. But I figure they usually split their games anyways so I’ll take the Cowboys to win at home.

IND @ MIA – Indianapolis Colts. Peyton Manning. Reggie Wayne. Enough said.

Well, we’ll see what happens this upcoming this week.

Written by Jay on September 24, 2008 – -

I started doing NFL picks each week and have been posting it on another blog which has been working out great. But I figured I’d start putting my NFL weekly picks and predictions on my personal blog so you guys can challenge me too!

Since I started picking at Week 2, I have compiled a record of 20-9 and there was a few tough losses (for instance, the Chargers losing to the Broncos), I should be somewhere around 23-6 or 24-5ish.
