According to an excerpt of an interview in the September issue of Vanity Fair, Ryan O’Neal hit on his daughter, Tatum, at Farrah Fawcett’s funeral.

O’Neal said he did not recognize the beautiful blonde who came up to him and embraced him and he made a joking and flirtatious remark.
The moment hit the fan when the younger O’Neal said, “Daddy, it’s me – Tatum!”

He admitted that it had been a few years since the Paper Moon co-stars had seen each other in person and the incident lends credibility to his candor at being a, “hopeless father.”

Tatum added that the moment was ,”our relationship in a nutshell.”

She went on to explain how they had seen less of each other after Farrah and Ryan O’Neal moved in together but placed no blame on the estrangement on Farrah, calling her, “kind.”

She said that her own involvement in drugs and subsequent book about her childhood led to even further estrangement from her father.

As for interpreting the flirtatious incident, the only other comment Tatum O’Neal said was, “You make of it what you will.”

Ryan O’Neal was also quoted as saying, “It’s so sick.”

Got that right.
